Project 1  Case Study and Documentation of Building Services Systems

In a group of 6, we had chosen a church in Bandar Sunway for easy access. One of my groupmate went to the church often so he was quite familiar with the building which was an advantage for us doing this project. We had to study and analyse the service systems installed in the building such as mechanical ventilation and air conditioning system, electrical supply system, mechanical transport system, and fire protection system to do a report about the systems. We also had to learn to identify all the building services components. Brief explanation on the functions of the system was written in the report with some diagrams.

Reflection:
In this project, I learned about the importance of each components in the systems and how they are connected to each other in making sure the building services really work in the design. I also learned some regulation about the service system in making sure that everything is legal and safe to use.

Project 2  Application of Building Services
This project was about designing and proposing electrical supply system, cold water and hot water supply system, sewerage and sanitary system, and drainage system for out design studio project in semester 2. I had produced drawings and diagrams with symbols and texts for easy understanding in my presentation board.

Reflection:
From this project, I had develop a basic understanding of the building services system in design and construction. I had learned to be more practical too in designing the systems by understanding the applicability of the specific systems.
